Escape to the breathtaking beauty of Big Bear with Camp Oaks, where the R - Tribe, a vibrant group of special needs adults, embarks on an unforgettable adventure! Surrounded by towering pines and crystal-clear lakes, they will immerse themselves in nature, explore the outdoors, and bond with friends. But the excitement doesn’t stop there—this inspiring group will also perform “Wicked” the Musical Medley, showcasing their creativity and spirit in a heartwarming celebration of talent. It’s a week of fun, friendship, and empowerment in the serene mountains of Big Bear—an experience you won’t want to miss!

Dates- Arrive at Camp Oaks Monday, September 8th, @ 9:30am and Depart September 13th, at 2pm. Families/Guardians/Close Friends are responsible for getting camp participants to Camp Oaks and back home after the last day.

Eligibilty- Must be 18+ to participate. All camp participants must pay a camp fee of $600 per person.

Participants - 70 camp participants, 5 team members and 10 counselors. Total of 85 participants.

Lodging - Campers will stay in 6 -7 Bixby cabins on site. These cabins holds up 16 campers total. Guys and Girls will be in separate cabins.

Meals- Camp Oaks will provide lodging meals and onsite activities. R - Tribe team leaders will provide additional snacks and drinks. Any meal restrictions need to be notified to your camp leaders 14 days prior to your scheduled event

Activities - Camp Oaks and R - Tribe camp leaders will work together to put a detailed Itinerary for each day. This will include start of day times, meal times, activity times, rehearsal times and end of night times.

Performance - On Saturday, September 13th, at noon campers will perform “Wicked the Musical Medley”in the amphitheater on site. All family and friends invited are invited to the show.

Counselors- If you are interested in being a camp counselor, please fill out the form below. Chris and Kristie your team leaders will schedule and interview with you discussing the responsibilities you will be asked to take on during the camp.

Registration/Sign up - Begins February 1st with a $300 deposit. The remaining balance of $ 300 is due by August 1st. Sign up and register in the Arms Wide Open office. Monday - Friday from 4pm - 7pm.
